Playability 8/10 - Does it meet the playability requirement? * Map is very easy to learn and navigate * Many unnecessary killzones allow speed building 2. Glitches 20/20 - Are there glitches? * None found 3. Texture 10/10 - Is it textured well? * Excellent in-theme texture set 4. Color 10/10 - Are the colors nice and clean? * Each room has it own unique colors, very well done 5. Sound 10/10 - Did you add sound? Is it good? * Used activation sounds well, especially on staircases * Original sounds effects 6. Overall Gfx 19/20 - Do the graphics blend together? * Lots of details -- such as the look-in window room and various litter objects and pipes * Human base ladder could look more like an actual ladder 7. Overall Sfx 18/20 - Do the sounds blend together? * The map overall seems kind of quiet. Although there are appropriate ambient effects in places, some Karith-style hums or other additional ambiance would have made it a bit more interesting. 8. Originality 30/30 - Is your map and idea original? * This is the same infested human base in the snow idea from Karith, sans outdoor section. Nevertheless the sheer graphical variety renders it a unique experience. * The activatable staircases and display case are a great addition! 9. Balance 15/30 - Do the humans and aliens win equally? * Map seems biased towards Human team * Aliens have no good bases on the map * Long, wide corridors with litter to circle strafe behind are again favorable to Human team * Alien starting base has many crouch spots which a Tyrant cannot reach 10. Overall 35/40 - Overall, is the map good? * Map was a favorite during play testing * Very nice graphics for a Tremulous map * No interesting base locations ================================================================================ INSANITY by Odin -- 125/200 1. Playability 2/10 - Does it meet the playability requirement? * Unusually laggy, many players complained about this and even voted to skip the map during testing! * Map was relatively easy to learn * Dragoon escape balcony is very convenient 2. Glitches 20/20 - Are there glitches? * Glitches have been fixed in latest version * Map lag may be a glitch? 3. Texture 8/10 - Is it textured well? * Unique specular effect on the wall textures * Orange texture is a bit overused 4. Color 2/10 - Are the colors nice and clean? * Orange and gray color scheme is a poor choice and is used almost without variation throughout the entire map 5. Sound 8/10 - Did you add sound? Is it good? * Activation sound effects used appropriately * No original sounds 6. Overall Gfx 15/20 - Do the graphics blend together? * Lighting is harsh and unattractive * Map feels repetitive * Volumetric lights look very nice * Great-looking translucent doors 7. Overall Sfx 20/20 - Do the sounds blend together? * Sound works well with correct door noises * Plenty of ambient sounds 8. Originality 10/30 - Is your map and idea original? * See-through doors and windows add a strategic element * Not much else to distinguish it from the stock maps 9. Balance 20/30 - Do the humans and aliens win equally? * Map has no good Alien bases * Possible Human-only base that is Tyrant-proof and allows two-tier turrets * Dragoon escape balcony is very close to Human base * Starter Alien base only has one exit for anything other than a Dretch 10. Overall 20/40 - Overall, is the map good? * The lag from the graphics seems odd given that the map isn't very complex graphically * Demotivational posters room feels gimmicky especially since it is a no-build zone * Dropship does not serve a purpose in the map ================================================================================ SHIP by Doomagent13 -- 43/200 1. Playability 5/10 - Does it meet the playability requirement? * Very simple graphics don't lag even on poor hardware * Killbox right next to Alien base is very unfair and unexpected 2. Glitches 10/20 - Are there glitches? * Elevators glitch 3. Texture 1/10 - Is it textured well? * Texturing is at an amateur level 4. Color 0/10 - Are the colors nice and clean? * Colors are oversaturated * Color scheme is bland, made from stock textures 5. Sound 2/10 - Did you add sound? Is it good? * Sound is missing from elevators * Doors have proper sound effects * No ambient sounds 6. Overall Gfx 5/20 - Do the graphics blend together? * Graphics are very simplistic * Details were attempted unsucessfully in some places (chairs, etc) * Different sized doors in the same hallway do not make sense * Perhaps ironically the bare minimum graphics do not distract from gameplay as much as the other maps 7. Overall Sfx 5/20 - Do the sounds blend together? * Very quiet map * Missing activation sounds for anything other than doors 8. Originality 5/30 - Is your map and idea original? * It is not clear what the theme of the map is supposed to be * Mostly generic design and texturing * Rounded room is interesting architecture 9. Balance 5/30 - Do the humans and aliens win equally? * Many small one-door rooms that could be used to make game-breaking Human bases * Aliens start off next to a massive killbox 10. Overall 5/40 - Overall, is the map good? * Because Aliens and Humans start out so close together, gameplay is uncommonly hectic for Tremulous -- this can be fun * Map feels very unfinished ================================================================================ SPACETRACKS by Supertanker -- 152/200 1. Playability 5/10 - Does it meet the playability requirement? * Non-functional doors are confusing * Map is a bit confusing at first 2. Glitches 10/20 - Are there glitches? * Doors squash dretches * Caulk visible through door frame * Lift buttons loop their press sound even when they are not responding 3. Texture 8/10 - Is it textured well? * Textures are mostly stock, though applied well * Could have used a more interesting/thematic font for labels * TV textures are well done 4. Color 8/10 - Are the colors nice and clean? * Color scheme is standard for Tremulous with some variety 5. Sound 8/10 - Did you add sound? Is it good? * Sounds are stock Tremulous * No original sounds 6. Overall Gfx 18/20 - Do the graphics blend together? * Some details worked into the map as brushes which should have been models or textures * Iris doors are interesting * Train is well-done 7. Overall Sfx 15/20 - Do the sounds blend together? * Activation and ambient sounds are used appropriately * Sound glitches 8. Originality 20/30 - Is your map and idea original? * Not an original setting * The moving train and circular doors are nice * Nice TV images and community references 9. Balance 20/30 - Do the humans and aliens win equally? * Game-breaking Human base possible inside of one of the bedrooms, although it is close to the Alien base 10. Overall 40/40 - Overall, is the map good? * Had some great games on this map during testing ================================================================================ WRECKTIFY by Rezyn -- 146/200 1. Playability 2/10 - Does it meet the playability requirement? * Huge rooms make walking from place to place a chore * Very difficult map to learn, played many games and still got lost * Activatable traps are functionally useless 2. Glitches 20/20 - Are there glitches? * None found 3. Texture 8/10 - Is it textured well? * Some stock textures could have been avoided but overall the texture choices are very good and in-theme 4. Color 8/10 - Are the colors nice and clean? * Color is nice and varied, if a little overly dark-gray * Since there are so many of them, some extra effort to distinguish the room color schemes could have helped 5. Sound 8/10 - Did you add sound? Is it good? * Activation and ambient sounds used properly * No original sounds 6. Overall Gfx 15/20 - Do the graphics blend together? * Map feels sparse -- a lot of rooms lack detail * Could have used detail objects to add personality to rooms 7. Overall Sfx 15/20 - Do the sounds blend together? * Activation sounds work fine * Map feels quiet -- could have added more ambient sounds 8. Originality 25/30 - Is your map and idea original? * Granger-in-a-box :) * Counter-weight doors * Dragoon vents * A lot of rooms feel like they're copied from stock maps -- one room in particular is a dead ringer for Karith's Human base 9. Balance 15/30 - Do the humans and aliens win equally? * Large and long hallways are biased towards Human weapons * Many places for Human jettard bases * Such a large map is very easy to egg-spam 10. Overall 30/40 - Overall, is the map good? * This map was another favorite during testing * The excessive size of the map is a definite problem although it does allow unique opportunities to pick your battles
